One of our favorite projects was completing a re-brand for Welsh artisan food producer Patchwork Pate. Taking inspiration from Winnie the Pooh’s 100 Acre Wood, we designed and illustrated 52 individual pieces of packaging which when fitted together, tell the Patchwork story.

The project was completed on time, under budget and was launched to critical acclaim, achieving a return on investment of 20:1. If that wasn’t enough, our designs helped Patchwork scoop the prestigious ‘Speciality Producer of the Year’ award by the Fine Food Digest.

“ Preface have caused a revolution in our packaging. Our products now jump off the shelf, sales are up and the graphic stories on each box give everyone something to talk about. For us, it's a PR dream and we are delighted to now have a reputation as a trend setter and market leader.”

Jeremy Waite, Brand Manager for Patchwork Pate.

Packaging design

We were commissioned to design and illustrate packaging for newly launched artisan food company BirdFood.

The series of fantastic products have a high-end and kooky appeal which was matched by the packaging design we produced. One of our favourite projects of recent months. For a better look click HERE

“From the initial creative brief right through to final delivery, Preface demonstrated an intrinsic understanding of what was required and a true dedication to the project. Offering valuable advice throughout the process - an absolute pleasure to work with"

The Coffee Circle
Brand identity We produced a brand identity and packaging design for this independent speciality coffee company.

Taking inspiration from the Celtic knot we positioned the Coffee Circle as a high end and ethical brand, making use of foil blocking and hand writing to give the packaging an inconsistent and small batch produced feel.

IllustrationBoutique cake makers Rosy Posy required a kooky but upmarket brand producing. So we hand drew this lovely logo to express the homemade nature of Rosy Posy’s delightful cakes.
